Dear Host Family!
Hello! I’m Camila but my family and friends call me Mila, and here I’m going to try to say a bit about myself.  I’m Brazilian, 26 years old, and I live in Ponta Grossa, the fourth largest city of State of Paraná (Southern Region).Currently I’ve been working in the administrative department of a supermarket. In the business field I have almost 10 years experience, including leadership activities and positions of trust. I live with my parents: my father Sergio (58) and my mother Margarida (50). I have one brother, (28) who lives in another State.
I’m graduated in Administration and my dream is to open my own business, which will be my challenge after coming back from the exchange program. I work day shift, and at night, twice a week, have ballet classes, because I love dancing and it does good to me. Three times a week I have English classes so I can improve the language.
I’d describe myself as independent, responsible, caring, patient and flexible person. My friends and family say I’m a creative and funny person. My hobbies are go outside to play volleyball, riding a bicycle, have picnic at the park; cooking and travelling (just love it). When my brother and my sister-in-law come to town — Ponta Grossa —we always get together to watch movies. I also like to watch baseball games. I got my license drive in 2009 and love to drive.
I’ve had two very important experiences with children:
The first one was in a day care school where I volunteered to take care of children at ages of 5 and 8. The activities involved monitoring, recreational activities, helping with homework and others. It was an amazing experience, and it was lovely the way children answered to this time we spent together. Another experience working with children happened with my neighbor Lucas, at time just about to become 2 years old. I helped feeding, bathing, and following him to take naps, as well as other activities. It lasted 2 months.
Currently I went back to take care of Lucas, now 5 years. Some in my more than 800 hours profile with child care.
I’ve decided to be an Au Pair because I like to be with kids and I think it is easier to learn English with them. I also want to get to know the american culture.
I know how important an Au Pair is in the host family life, I want to let you know I am open to help in everything you may need Help with.
It will be a pleasure hearing from you.
Camila Schafranski.
